My late Auntie Mildred loved Hawaii and has visited there since the early 40's. She has always said that this headpiece was placed on her head by Hilo Hatti -- it's one of those family stories that could be true! Her first documented trip to Hawaii was in 1946 or '48 on the Lurline ship. She even clipped out ads from a magazine.
This photo montage is for Auntie Mildred. The photo in the heart-shaped lens is my Auntie Mildred, taken in the 50's on a beach in Honolulu.

Well done, Judy. Very creative to put that photo of your Aunt Mildred in the glasses!
Very touching entry. A very special montage.
Thanks Carol & Linda: I'm sure Auntie Mildred would have loved the montage! She had kept that shell headpiece for probably 40+ years!
Interesting in that I believe your Auntie Mildred and I were in Hawaii at the same time! My family moved there in 1959, and we traveled there aboard the Matsonia (the sister ship of the Lurline). Your Auntie Mildred and I were both in Hawaii the day it became a state! Good shot, Judy. --Carol Leigh
